Aeolian Islands Preservation Foundation
The Aeolian Islands Preservation Foundation (AIPF) was set up in 2014 by Luca Del Bono, environmentalist Ben Goldsmith and supportive friends, to preserve the exceptional beauty and natural heritage of the archipelago; encouraging a more responsible, sustainably led approach to tourism and promoting its unique, ecologically rich ecosystem.
To address social and environmental challenges, the AIPF has worked with partners such as Blue Marine Foundation, Mare Vivo, Sea Shepherd and Oceana, funding projects to protect the land and sea, commissioned studies to engage the community and promote change, and established alliances to strengthen local voices on critical issues.
In 2022 the AIPF in partnership with the Conservation Collective, the organisation evolved in to the Sicily Environment Fund (SEF), that through a new steering committee has been supporting local initiatives to protect and restore unique projects across the region.

Founded by Luca, developed in 2015, the former South Kensington Club over 20,000 square feet of space across three floors and offered a pioneering members club concept, including social and health areas, creating a innovative lifestyle.
Upon success of the project, Luca exited in 2017 to create ONDA.
Today the property houses Nexus Club.

Inspired by Luca’s childhood in the Aeolian Islands, the Sicilian styled café in South Kensington embodied the art of the “incontro”, or the encounter, a meeting place praised by the Daily Telegraph as “wildly evocative of a Mediterranean summer.”
Healthy dishes and authentic Italian flavors celebrated a Sicilian cuisine in a neighborhood context. The site was closed during Covid times.

La Macchia, a Country Club, on the beach next to Capalbio in Tuscany, is an idyllic hideaway surrounded by a WWF nature reserve. Just an hour drive north of Rome, its unique for the blend of wild countryside and Mediterranean living.
Developed by Luca Del Bono and partners, launched in Summer 2017, the Club offers members and guests seaside aperitivos, dining al fresco and dancing under the Mediterranean sky.
La Macchia offers members a varied calendar of activities, ranging from cultural to sporting events. In Autumn and Spring, the club becomes an escape, to connect back to nature during the weekends.
Surrounding charming villas are available to rent all year, where a world of nature, gastronomy and tradition are typical of this magical part of Italy.

Luca Del Bono, an Anglo-Italian entrepreneur, has been passionate about hospitality since leaving his business studies in Oxford, working in hotels from Italy to private clubs London, contributing to the value creation to some of the most recognised members clubs projects in the sector.
Luca is at the helm of ONDA, a leading global lifestyle platform, connecting members through experiences at social, business and health clubs around the world.
Previously, in 2000, Luca spearheaded the business development and growth of lifestyle company Quintessentially internationally and launching Quintessentially Travel.
Over the years, Luca has embraced causes that he's passionate about. Luca has also received the PURE Life Experience Award and been honoured by the President of Italy with the knighthood of Cavaliere all'Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana.
